Disabled Veteran/Prisoner of War

Qualifications

• Qualified war veterans are eligible to use their State Disabled Veteran/Prisoner of War Pass for free entry into all Sacramento County regional parks.

Low Income

    Non-senior qualifications (under 62 years)

• If receiving aid from the Sacramento County Department of Human Assistance, you must show:

  • The Electronic Benefits Transfer (EBT) card issued by the DHA

  • Picture identification ID must match the card bearer’s name

• If receiving SSI for the Aged, Blind or Disabled, you must show

  • Current printout of SSI eligibility only from Social Security

  • Picture identification. Must be 16 years or older

• If receiving aid under the CalWORKS program under the provisions of W&I 11200, and covered under Medi-Cal Aid Codes 3A, 3C, 3E, 3G, 3H, 3L, 3M, 3N, 3P, 3R, 3U, 3W, 30, 32, 33, 34, 35, 37, 40 OR 42, you must show:

  • Applicant must have their case worker at the county welfare office provide the case number (including the two digit Aid Code)

  • Welfare Department Date Stamp and case worker signature

  • Picture identification

    Senior qualifications (two age requirements)

• If aged 62 years or older:

  • If you have a total monthly net income from all sources, including Social Security and any old age assistance payments that does not exceed $927 for a single person or $1729 combined monthly net income for married persons or registered domestic partners. Applicant must show:

    • Picture identification with proof of age

    • Submit Form SSA-2458 (available from the local social security office)

    Or

    • Present a current reduced fee sport fishing license from the California Department of Fish & Game.

• If aged 65 years or older and do not meet the above qualification, you must show:

  • A current Medi-Cal card; and

  • Picture identification with proof of age.

    Medicare does not qualify for a low income pass since it is based upon age and not upon income.

    The types of low-income passes available are:

• Vehicle Parks Pass - $10
  Allows one vehicle less than 22 feet in length to enter any Sacramento County Regional Park

• Boat Trailer/Oversized Vehicle/Other Trailer Parks Pass $50
  Allows one vehicle with or without a boat trailer, horse trailer or small watercraft to enter any Sacramento County Regional Park
