Hours, Permits and Fees
Hours
Parks and Parkways:
- Sacramento County's Regional Parks, Sacramento River and Delta sites: Open from sunrise to sunset, unless posted otherwise. Hours of operation are posted at each park location.
- The American River Parkway: In general, the Parkway is open one hour before sunrise until one hour after sunset. Exceptions to this are walk-in access points to the parkway.
- The Effie Yeaw Nature Center: open seven days a week, November through February from 9:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and March through October from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The nature center is closed on Thanksgiving, Christmas Day and New Years Day.

- Vehicle Entrance: $5.00
- Small Watercraft Launch Fee (per watercraft, American River Parkway only): $2.50
- Vehicle + Trailer or Oversized Vehicle (over 22 feet): $10.00
- Bus (10+ passengers): $20.00
- Special Events: fee varies
Annual Passes
The Passport to Parks annual passes are good for 12 months from date of purchase. Annual passes are an excellent way to help financially support your County park system. Purchase your annual pass online now!
- Vehicle: $50.00
- Vehicle + Trailer or Oversized Vehicle (over 22 feet): $100.00
- Vehicle + Horse Trailer: $75.00
- Vehicle + Small Watercraft: $75.00
- Low Income $10 and $50 (Requirements
and process to purchase a low-income pass)
- Disabled Veteran/Prisoner of War Pass - Qualified war veterans are
eligible to use their 'State Disabled Veteran/Prisoner of War Pass' for free
entry into all Sacramento County regional parks.
Permits
Post Payment Parking Permit
This permit is needed if the event holder would like to pay for their guest's park entry fee. There is a $25 processing fee for the permit and an additional charge of $5.00 per guest vehicle. The vehicle entry fee will be billed to the permit holder after the event. A reservation for a park site is not required to have a post payment permit but a two-week advance notice is required.
Amplified Sound Permit
This permit is required when a public address system, disc jockey, or a band will be used. There is a $25 fee for the permit. All groups requesting an amplified sound permit require a reservation for a park site. Amplified sound permits are not available at the William B. Pond Park per American River Parkway Ordinances.
