Permanent Positions
Park Ranger I
Park Ranger I is the entry level position of the Park Ranger series. Park Rangers in this group primarily assist the public in the use of recreation facilities, and as peace officers enforce local laws in their park patrol duties. Additionally, they may perform minor building and grounds maintenance.
Park Maintenance Worker I
Park Maintenance Worker I is the entry level class in the park maintenance series. People in this job perform assigned maintenance and repair work, and may assist in, or directly instruct, temporary helpers in learning to perform assigned maintenance and repair tasks.
Seasonal, Part-time Positions
Park Ranger Assistant
Park Ranger Assistant is a seasonal class designed primarily for recruitment and training of people seeking a career in the park management field or ranger services. Assistants work under supervision and primarily with park visitors, park protection, and interpretive park activities.
Park Maintenance Aide
Park Maintenance Aides receive on-the-job training in park maintenance and provide temporary help during peak work loads. Aides are temporary employees and may not gain permanent employee status in the class.
Park Interpretive Specialist
Specialists perform a wide range of professional park, museum, and interpretive program operations. They often have heavy public contact, and work with exhibits, collections development and maintenance, and volunteer coordination.
